Could someone please post the PS3 controls as a separate page on the main wiki, as I want to use a generic PS-style controller on PC.
I've found some information about the game's world and backstory here and I'm curious as to where you got it.
I've owned a copy of Brutal Legend ever since it came out and have played it many times. But in all these years I've never known what Lionwhyte and the Coil were getting out of the mines or Ophelia named the Drowning Doom after what happened to her parents until today.
So how is it you know? Was it mentioned in the art book? In some other official text? Or did I just miss something in the game? Because I'd hate to think you are just making it up.
By the way, I love this game and it's lore but, I think you'll agree, it's delivery of backstory and world building could have been much better.
I will tell you were the solo is:
Somewhere here is in Ophelia's zone😸🐈
I know, many many years ago we played this game and I was pretty convinced that the metal world was another strange world, I mean, it was clear for me that it was another world where we go when we die, in case of Eddie Riggs, because he was "called" by Ormagöden.
I'm playing the game again on Xbox360 for the achievements, by the way, I got the viral achievement and the viral trophy on PS3 if anyone needs help, and I was shocked because at the very beginning we can hear Lars, the resistance leader, and his sister, talking about Ormagöden as the "Destryoer of the Ancient World". So, my theory is this:
When Eddie Riggs died and awoke Ormagöden, this was still the same world, then, Ormagöden literatelly killed almost the entire world as we know it and the METAL ERA began, including the fact that people survived somehow and, for some reason, begin to tell stories. One prophecy said that Eddie Riggs will come and save the world. So, maybe one thousand years had passed when we play as Eddie Riggs.What do you think?
Technically, it should be possible. Here's my idea:
1) Player character. Instead of Eddie, the player gets to choose one of the non-hero human npcs:
Headbanger;
Razor Girl;
Thunderhog;
Fire Baron;
Roadie;
Zaulia;
Grave Digger;
Possibly Kabbage Boy band-members.
I figure these should be the most fitting because they can use the same animations as Eddie (+ the would have the ability to manipulate objects without looking too wonky) or have their own, and have basic customization options.
2) Customization. Once the character model is selected, the player would get the option to customize it by choosing:
Skin\hair\eyes\clothes colours (when applicable);
Hairstyle - for example Headbangers should have standard or glam options; Grave Diggers have several options (messy, downed mohawk, etc.);
Additional clothes - for instance Headbangers should be able to choose a beanie, a helmet, a bandana, a pink cowboy hat, etc., a vest or t-shirt, and so on (for Headbangers, Razor Girls, Thunderhogs, and Roadies, the Hair Metal Militia customization options should be available).
3) Gear. Once the character's model and appearance are selected, the player should have the option to select their weapon and instrument. I think the following would do (note that ideally, they should not have buffs, but I suppose it would be possible to make buffs work as a kind of purchasable enchantment):
Weapons:
The Separator (Eddie's axe);
All vanilla options for the axe (electric, sharp, bloody, etc.)(aesthetic only);
Razor Girls' shotgun (may or may not shoot);
Zaulia spear;
One of Ophelia's blades;
Lars' sword;
Lita's polearm;
Grave Digger's shovel;
Punishing Party's spear;
Doviculus's polearm;
Reaper's scythe;
Druid's sword;
Simple drum stick (possibly);
The Hunter's weapon;
Meat (as seen in some cutscenes)(more of a joke weapon).
Instruments:
Clementine (Eddie's guitar);
All vanilla "strings" for Clementine (Brawlers, High Voltage, etc.)(likewise, purely aesthetic; when applicable);
Bass guitar;
Lionwhyte's microphone;
Hydra (Doviculus' guitar);
Six-Stringed Sorrow (Drowned Ophelia's guitar).
4) Vehicle. One is needed to cover the distance, of course. The player gets a vehicle-spawn solo at game-start, but the vehicle should be chosen during character customization. Available should be most human vehicles.
The Deuce (Eddie's car);
Headsplitter;
Hairsplitter;
Hearse (Drowned Ophelia's car);
Chariot (Doviculus' car);
Thunderhog trike (minus Thunderhog);
Glamhog trike (minus Glamhog);
Fire Baron bike (minus Fire Baron);
Squealer (Fletus' car, minus Fletus);
Lightning Rod vehicle (possibly);
Mine cart (like the ones seen in and around Lionwhyte's mine).
5) Quests. Seeing as how playing through the original questline as anyone but Eddie would not make sense, it would obviously have to be removed. Hence why I said 'sandbox'. Instead, the player should have radiant quests, similar to those the Hunter gives, but with more variety.
Hunt - kill x number of whatever beasts;
Berserk - kill x number of whatever enemy units that spawn in your immediate vicinity until the time runs out (think Rampage missions in GTA)(all spawning units in a quest are the same - for example parties of 4-6 Druids, or Hairbangers, or Grave Diggers, you get the idea);
Race - self-explanatory: vanilla racing but should be able to have opponents other than Fletus (any vehicle npc in fact), and\ or up to four opponents;
Ambush - vanilla ambush mission;
Solo competition - play random solos against another npc. Whoever plays all the solos better (or perfectly) wins. (could be complicated to implement though);
Mounted race - same as vanilla racing, but player has to first catch a specific type of animal and use them as a vehicle (could be complicated to implement);
Recover strings - go to the metal spiders' lair and kill x number of spiders;
Get amps - go to the Screaming Wall and help the Roadies bring amps (basically repeating the vanilla quest 'Pilgrimage of Screams'.
Anything else, if possible.
And the quest-givers should spawn randomly in random places, or in set places but once in a few in-game days, etc. As reward, they give you Tribute points.
6) Shop. Driving inside Forges doesn't make sense for characters other than Eddie, so instead, the player should have some alternate way to activate them, or maybe they should have a dedicated merchant npc? Purchasables should be:
Instrument (replaces the current one);
Weapon (replaces the current one);
Vehicle (replaces the current one);
Character customization options (clothing skins, hairstyles, clothes - see point #1);
Weapon buff (possibly) - should act as the axe/ guitar improvements in vanilla, but instead work with any of the weapons/ instruments. It's a matter of adding the effect and shader (or just the effect if it's too much of a hassle to add the electric shader to Lita's polearm, for example).
7) Other stuff. Surely, if anyone is able to implement even a fraction of what's listed here, other stuff's bound to appear eventually. The sky's the limit. And while I'd really love to see this become reality, I fear that it won't, since it hasn't so far. Regardless, a man can dream.
What do you think?
Since the solo pages (for example Call of the Wild) are so poor and there's nothing really that can be added to I'm thinking about merging each factions solos into a faction specific page for example "Ironheade Solos" and "Drowning Doom solos" and wanted any thoughts on a better way to do it, or if I should expand the Guitar Solos page itself to have more information on each specific solo as opposed to just being a list.
it's always interesting to see what faction others enjoy and i'm just curious
(it's also to see how many people still come to this wiki givin it's an old game)
Has anyone else found this? And if so, who is it and why did the developer put it in? Can’t find anything online related to it.
This has probably been brought up by someone before, but I just can't help but wonder - who were their parents? The whole backstory is a bit "forget about it" on the matter. We know that Riggnarok started the first human rebellion against the demons, he taught people to make clothes, weapons, etc. He had that sword. Then, once the Sea of Black Tears was open, all humans, save for him, got seduced, and drank from it, thus the rebellion ended. So Riggnarok pretended to be a slave to get close to, and to murder Emperor (Empress?) Succoria, when she traveled to the future, but instead, the got involved with each-other, and made Eddy. Ok. Then we learn that Ophelia's parents gave Riggnarok's sword to Lars saying that it belonged to him - where did they get it? Why him? How did they even give it to him if they were supposed to be black-tear zombies? At the same time, Lita seems highly distrustful only of Ophelia, because her parents were tear-drinkers, and yet, none of the other human characters get the same treatment from her, not even she and Lars. But we already know that of all the humans in the first rebellion, only Riggnarok resisted the call of the Sea of Black Tears, so either Riggnarok was her and Lars' father also, or Riggnarok wasn't the only one to resist the Sea, but the only one to survive the human civil war. Also, if the Sea somehow released the original Black Tear rebels (Why? How?), how did they manage to keep Riggnarok's sword to give to Lars, if they were enslaved by the demons?

Can you do anything after the main story line? or should I just go to the next game. Shame though, I loved Brutal Legend and would've loved to see a sequel, or something like it. But anyways, can someone help?
~Face
Race
2-8 players.
The players summon their respective vehicle, and another player or one of the two or more players race to a set point wich the subject may vary, but I and Rikusorakairiown set the point to be the stage.
Lamprey Race
2-8 players.
The players summon their respective vehicle and go to the map Feeding Area, they must procede to race around the Lamprey and the first one to get their vehicle destroyed or is killed loses the last man standing in case of 3+ people. (This requires more luck than skill since the Lamprey is undodgeable).
Arena
2-8 players.
The players summon a unit/s of any kind to fight the other unit/s in case of 3+ players each player may choose 1 unit to represent them
Hide and Seek
2-8 players.
One player must give all the others time to count, wend they all say ready, the counter (person who counts) must find them and wend he does, they must gather in a certain point. The counter can not fly, only use his vehicle and walk & the hiding players musn´t hide in places wich are only reached by flight, once you find a player you must physically atack him.
Complete mayhem
2-8 players.
Players may fill all the load and send their units to the battlefield in a rather epic display of metal clashing.
Bleeding Death Destruction
2 players.
The players summon their BD and the BD will fight each other out, the BD that dies is the loser.
OPTIONAL:
The players can summon them near the Lamprey but they must be quick for the Lamprey is undodgeable and is a 1 hit KO sometimes.
Quality vs Quantity
2-8
Use the best unit of a certain faction (ex: BD, Rock Crusher, Tree Back ) and the other player/s make a army like 40 load or as close as he/she can to it, then make them all meet in a certain spot and UNLEASH THE AWESOMENESS.
All Road Racing
2-8
Go to a map with some mountains or hills, summon your car on top of them and set a waypoint then race to that point wich will result in awesome jumps.
Avatar Fight
2-8
Arrange a meeting, everyone appears at the spot, start fighting no units just your powers! (Works best with 8 people)
(More may be added as we find more).
