“I feel no pain, for you are feeling all the pain in the world!” — Doviculus

The Screamwagon is a Tainted Coil support vehicle that provides a number of beneficial effects for friendly units.

Story[]

“The Screamwagon is a highly efficient mobile torture device that provides support and motivation to Coil forces.” — Tour Book

The Screamwagon only appears during the final mission "Abomination Overdrive" after a certain amount of time has passed, alongside Hate Cage's and Skull Raker's, with the armor buff active during the battle.

Role[]

“Deadly spikes sprout from the Wagon's grill, inviting you to teach the pain-fearing enemy what they've been missing.” — Instruction Manual

Support vehicle, summoned only through a Warfather. Superior version available.

This machine carries around a demon - the Screamer - who is constantly subjected to various tortures. His suffering translates into buff effects for other Coil units nearby, depending on how he is being tortured.

As with Thunderhogs and Rock Crushers, Screamwagons will usually place themselves in the back rows of a group, which keeps them safer from enemy units, but sometimes prevents their buff from reaching units in the front.

Double Team[]

Doviculus takes control of the torture rack.

Drivable vehicle. The wagon sprouts deadly frontal spikes, and the active buff can be cycled at will.

The Screamwagon's buff effects are:

  • Dousing the victim in boiling oil reduces damage taken.
  • Stretching the victim on the rack increases damage dealt.
  • Blasting the victim with flames accelerates the build speed for Hierarchy units.

Duplicate buffs don't stack, but multiple Screamwagons set to different buffs will affect all units with all active buffs.

Screamwagons are quite fast, so ramming enemy infantry with their grill spikes is much like doing so with an Avatar's vehicle.

Trivia[]

  • The Screamer, who is the demon who is strapped to the Screamwagon, was featured in the first trailer for Brutal Legend, albeit he had a much deeper voice. This deeper voice was saved, as it now narrates the Legend cutscenes.
  • Actor David Cross takes the role of the poor tortured demon who is strapped to the Screamwagon and the player can hear him screaming and complaining when near the unit.
