"To the Slaughter" is the sixth story mission in Brütal Legend.
Story[]
After delivering the heavy duty bass strings needed to heal Ophelia, Kill Master and his Thunderhogs join Ironheade. Eddie Riggs and Ophelia rendezvous at the Razor Fields, where she introduces him to her Razor Girls.
Walkthrough[]
This mission introduces the player to the Thunderhog's double team. The player will be able to control the Thunderhog, allowing the player to herd the Razorfire Boars towards Ophelia under the statues. Once a Razorfire Boar is within Ophelia's range, playing the stun note (A on the Xbox 360, X on the PS3, and Left-Click on PC) will allow her to dissect its carcass to make a Razor Bow. Once this process is repeated four times, the Razor Girls will be fully armed and the mission complete.
Brütal Defeat[]
The mission will fail if:
- The player dies.
- The player leaves the mission area.
Result[]
After this mission is completed, Razor Girls will join Ironheade and its patrols. Likewise, the Hair Metal Militia will do the same for their Groupie units.
Soundtrack[]
- Bomber -- Girlschool
Trivia[]
- The title of this mission ("To the Slaughter") is likely a reference to the song "Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter" by Iron Maiden. However, it could also be a reference to the common saying "Lead lambs to the slaughter". There is strong support for the latter possibility, as the mission entails herding Razofire Boars into an area where they are literally slaughtered.
- Originally, the song "Bomber" (the song that plays during the mission) was going to be the Motörhead version, but the music director, Emily Ridgway, decided to use the Girlschool cover, because the mission was about both Lemmy Killmister and getting the player's first female troops. [1]
- If Eddie talks to Lita before heading to The Razor Fields, he will ask her if she's ready to attack General Lionwhyte's Pleasure Tower. This is odd, as Ophelia told Eddie, Lita, and Lars that she already freed the women from the tower near the beginning of Mission 4.
